Finding Joy

God made us for joy. God is joy, and the joy of living reflects the original joy that God felt in creating us.
— St. John Paul II

Where do you find joy?

For me, painting brings me joy, even when I don’t like what I created. A pen with a nice smooth feel to it is a gift. Adding line work to a painting I’m not loving brings me joy. Stopping to find the smallest hints of nature can brighten my day. Turning my migraine pill bottle into a water container to wash my brushes in gives me a smile.

Some heavy, dark days it takes real effort to find joy. There are gifts all around us if we have eyes to see. Sometimes we need our friends to help us seek out delight again. My wish for you is to find joy all through your day.

What small daily things bring you joy?

Where can we spread that joy to others?
